How Does Our Design Process Work?

By browsing through our Charleston showroom with a member of the design team, you will have access to the largest selection and latest styles in home furnishings and accessories. Once your design consultant identifies the furniture and accessories that interest you, they will then help you generate a design plan that works within your budget.

For smaller projects, your consultant may ask for room measurements and even complete a floor plan while you are in the store. For larger projects, your design consultant may schedule a visit to your home. It is this home visit that allows your design consultant to see the space and take measurements of the rooms you plan to furnish, all in an effort to ensure that the selected pieces will work perfectly. After careful evaluation of your color scheme and the character of your home, along with the input you have provided, your design consult will create a custom design plan just for you. They will develop a detailed floor plan and select furniture, colors and textures that are a reflection of you and your style – all within your budget. We will outline recommendations of furniture and accessories, as well as present professionally drawn floor plans along with color, fabric and finish selections. After your design consultant pulls everything together, you will come back into the showroom for a presentation and make your final selections. Finally, all of your furnishings will be professionally installed and your designer will even bring the necessary final touches...lamps, artwork, trees and accessories, if you so choose. We do this all within your budget and always tailor it specifically to you and your space. We promise that we can help you to take the guesswork out of decorating. Commercial Design

Our design team has years of experience furnishing commercial properties. Our expertise lies not just in residential, but also in hospitality, restaurant and retail store design. Our prior design projects include restaurants, hotels, retail stores, medical facilities and offices, just to name a few. We also have extensive experience with model homes and staging. Our staff can provide as much help as you need, but if you have your own designer, we can work with you as purchasing agents and provide warehousing until the project is complete. We also provide professional delivery and installation by our trained, uniformed delivery staff.

Professional Outside Designers

If you are a professional Interior Designer, we welcome the opportunity to work with you and we offer an extremely competitive commission program to designers registered with us.  Our ultimate goal is to develop a long-term relationship to help you help your clients. Cheryl Barboza

Design Consultant

Cheryl hails from generations of creativity and carpentry.  She has an innate ability to evaluate a situation, space or place and create beauty and warmth.  She is the “Son” her father never had, with that being said, she has been taught by the very best as to how to build a house, design any type of space and feel the needs of her customers.  Interior design has been a love of hers since she was very young, and has made it a part of every home she has lived in as well as assisting others with her talents.  She has an amazing skill for taking existing materials and creating something wonderful out of them therefore, resourcefulness can be added to her list of talents.   She also has lived a life consisting of diversity and world travel, which adds to the way she can communicate with many types of people.  Well rounded, smart and creative, this is our Cheryl!!

Aylin Carpenter

Interior Designer

Aylin (I-lean) is originally from Istanbul, Turkey and has been with Infinger Furniture since 2007. She is a highly creative and skilled Interior Designer with over 16 years of experience in commercial and residential design. Aylin excels in applying her vast knowledge of interior design to all her projects making each room unique and tailored to her customer’s individual preferences. She is able to accurately analyze various cost factors and complete all projects within the client’s budget. Aylin enjoys creating the perfect room and transforming her customer’s dreams into reality!

Bob Causby

Design Consultant

As a 3rd generation furniture industry veteran, the furniture business truly is in Bob’s blood. Bob has spent the last 34 years in the furniture industry, working on both the wholesale and retail ends. Living downtown in Charleston’s historical district; he loves attending home tours and has a real passion for antiques. Bob’s work spans through many different styles with a special love of the historical homes of Charleston and traditional styles of furniture. Bob excels in his customer service, always making sure his clients are pleased 100% of the time!

Armand Lavallee

Design Consultant

With a lifelong passion for furniture and design, Armand enjoys helping people create beautiful environments that reflect their unique personalities and lifestyles. He started his career as a visual coordinator at Macys in San Diego, and while there, studied Furniture Design and Technology at Palomar College. Armand then obtained the elite certification of Master Craftsman and is a longstanding member of the San Diego Fine Woodworkers Association. While in Charleston, Armand was a Design Consultant at Bassett Furniture from it’s opening in 2004 to 2008. He then moved to New York and used his space planning skills as a kitchen designer. Recently back in Charleston, Armand is passionate about furniture and home renovation and offers a fresh, innovative approach to his designs.

Leon Stone

Design Consultant

Leon grew up in the small furniture town of Bassett, Virginia nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.  Being a descendant of one of the four original founders of Bassett Furniture Co., he has many friends and relatives involved in all aspects of the industry.  After graduation from Virginia Tech and completing his obligation with the military, he eventually settled in Charleston and began a career spanning 30 years in the furniture business.  Many residents in the area have benefitted from his friendly and knowledgeable approach in solving their design requirements.  Leon would welcome the opportunity to share his expertise when thinking about your next project.

Tammy Ulrich

Design Consultant

Tammy comes to us from Texas, where she studied interior design. She has over 25 years of industry experience in residential design with a special focus on upholstered furniture, custom window treatments and soft goods. Tammy excels at balancing clients desires with their budgets while implementing the principals and elements of design. She enjoys creating rooms that reflect client’s tastes and personalities and feel warm, comfortable and stylish.

Ashley Wallace

Design Consultant

Ashley is a native Charlestonion who learned the art of constructing furniture while spending summers in Hickory, NC, the epicenter of American furniture manufacturing. Inspired by her grandmothers love for decorating as a child, she became certified in interior design in 2003. As a wife and mother, Ashley uses her design expertise to find a real world balance between form and function. She is passionate about all aspects of interior design, and enjoys integrating varying fabrics, colors and finishes in interesting and unexpected ways to reflect the client’s lifestyle. In the client’s home or in our store, Ashley strives to create relaxed and comfortable customer interactions that result in beautifully defined spaces.

Kelly Dailey, Allied ASID

Sales Manager / Visual Merchandiser & Buyer / Interior Designer

Kelly has been an interior designer for over twelve years and for the past six, she worked as the Design Manager and Store Manager of Bassett Furniture in Mt. Pleasant. Kelly joined Infinger in March of 2010, and her responsibilities include sales management, buying for and merchandising the store and assisting the Design Consultants with house calls and commercial projects. Kelly has designed retail stores, model homes, medical facilities, restaurants, offices and many, many private residences. She specializes in space planning, fabric and finish selection, and large or complex projects. Kelly holds degrees in both Art History and Interior Design and is an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers.
